About Foshan

Foshan to Guangzhou

Foshan and Guangzhou are effectively one metro area (≈20–25 km between city centres between centres). The easy default is the Guangfo Line, about 60 min end-to-end; for the fastest hub-to-hub hop, high-speed rail does it in roughly 20 min.

By metro (the usual way)

The Guangfo Line links central Foshan to central Guangzhou directly, with no need to change for most trips — about 60 min from end to end and faster between closer stops. It passes Zumiao (the Ancestral Temple) and Qiandeng Lake, so it doubles as your sightseeing line. See the metro guide for fares and payment.

By high-speed rail (the fastest)

Between the rail hubs, a high-speed train covers Foshan to Guangzhou South in about 20 min, with frequent daily departures. Factor in the time to reach the station — for many trips the door-to-door total is similar to the metro.

By taxi or DiDi

A taxi or DiDi is convenient for luggage or late hours, but city-to-city traffic can be slow. For most visitors the Guangfo Line is cheaper and more predictable.

How far is Foshan from Guangzhou?
The cities are directly adjacent and effectively merged into one 'Guangfo' metro area — roughly 20–25 km between centres, depending on how it's measured.

Yes. Opened in November 2010, it was China's first inter-city metro line and runs from Foshan into central Guangzhou, passing Zumiao (the Ancestral Temple) on the way.
