About Foshan

A 3-day Foshan itinerary

Three days, one easy plan: the temple and old town on day one, a Shunde food day on day two, and a day trip on day three — green Xiqiao Mountain, or across to Guangzhou. Base yourself in Chancheng and most of it runs on the metro.

Day 2

Shunde — a food day

Give a whole day to Shunde, a Creative City of Gastronomy (2014). Work through the classics — double-skin milk, stir-fried milk and Shunde raw fish — and walk it off at Qinghui Garden. See Shunde cuisine for what to order. Shunde is reachable on the Guangfo Line and Guangzhou Metro Line 7.

Common questions

Is 3 days enough for Foshan?
Yes. Three days comfortably covers the Ancestral Temple and old town, a full food day in Shunde, and one day trip — either Xiqiao Mountain in Nanhai or a hop across to Guangzhou.
Can I do this Foshan itinerary by metro?
Mostly. Days one and two are metro-friendly via the Guangfo Line and Guangzhou Metro Line 7. For Xiqiao Mountain you'll finish the trip by taxi, DiDi or bus, as there's no metro to the mountain itself.
Where should I base myself for this itinerary?
Stay in Chancheng, the central district — it's walkable, best-connected, and puts day one's sights on your doorstep.
